Job Description

REQUIREMENT(S)

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil [Transportation/Traffic], Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science/Engineering [Telecommunications] from an ABET-accredited program.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inside Plant (ISP)/Outside Plant (OSP) fiber optic/ wireless network architecture development and design.
  • Assist in existing technology systems evaluation, system design calculations, equipment layouts for telecommunications solutions.
  • Assist in review of codes to ensure designs meet all applicable codes and safety standards.
  • Conduct site surveys to determine existing facility conditions.
  • Performs field reviews to assess and document existing conditions to be utilized in system designs.
  • Assist in the development of cost estimates for use in determining overall project budget.
  • Assist Project Manager and Design Leads during construction phase services monitoring progress to ensure adherence to project schedule and conformance to design intent and documented requirements.
  • Attend and participate in company sponsored formal/informal learning & development training sessions to obtain knowledge in necessary technical areas.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer [RCDD] (Highly Preferred).
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate [CCNA] (Preferred)
  • Distributed Antenna System [DAS] design experience (Preferred)
  • Fundamental of Engineering (EIT) license (Preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license (Highly Preferred).
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD (Required), AutoCAD Civil 3D (Preferred).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, technical, and documentation skills.
  • Desire to grow and take on task management, concept design, assisting Project Management tasks.
  • Motivated, detail oriented and self-driven individual with strong interpersonal skills.
